{"id":1464,"date":"2023-11-20T15:19:30","date_gmt":"2023-11-20T15:19:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spot-hr.be\/?page_id=1464"},"modified":"2023-11-20T20:36:35","modified_gmt":"2023-11-20T20:36:35","slug":"opzegtermijnen-nl","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/spot-hr.be\/en\/opzegtermijnen-nl\/","title":{"rendered":"Notice periods in the Netherlands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For the employer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-list eplus-styles-uid-cb832d\">\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\">less than 5 years of service: 1 month notice period;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\">5 to 10 years of service: 2 months' notice period;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\">10 to 15 years of service: 3 months notice period;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"eplus-wrapper\">15 years of service or longer: 4 months' notice period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">A longer term can be agreed with the employee. A shorter term is only allowed if stated in the collective labor agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For the employee:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">According to the law, a notice period of 1 month applies to the employee. The duration of the employment relationship does not play a role in this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>If no other written agreement has been made about the notice period, the notice of termination is before the end of the month.
