16,8% of new indefinite-term contracts in Belgium in 2022 were terminated within six months. Of these terminations, 64.5% were fast quitting and 35.5% were dismissals. SMEs in particular (<10 employees) experience a high rate of rapid closures (23.5%).
Blue-collar workers are more likely to resign within six months (19.7%) than white-collar workers (14.7%). This trend highlights the importance of careful selection and onboarding, especially for small businesses.
