For the employer:
- less than 5 years of service: 1 month notice period;
- 5 to 10 years of service: 2 months' notice period;
- 10 to 15 years of service: 3 months notice period;
- 15 years of service or longer: 4 months' notice period.
A longer term can be agreed with the employee. A shorter term is only allowed if stated in the collective labor agreement.
For the employee:
According to the law, a notice period of 1 month applies to the employee. The duration of the employment relationship does not play a role in this.
If no other written agreement has been made about the notice period, the notice of termination is before the end of the month. The employment contract continues until the last day of the month in which the notice period expires.
